Term 3 Science
In Term 3 we will be focusing on Chemical Science. This term students will get to be involved in a range of hands on experiments. They will mix together a variety of different chemicals, make predictions and observe how they change once they are mixed. All students this term will also be investigating what we recycle, what we throw away, and what happens to it afterwards.
Prep students will be experimenting with play dough to find out how materials react to being twisted and turned. They will observe how things can shape by making popcorn and discussing how it has changed and what caused the change.
Grade 1 and 2 two students will make ice cream and butter while exploring the properties of a range of materials to learn about solids liquids and gasses.
Grade 3 and 4 will explore changes of state through observing how ice changes to water and making chemicals fizz and explode.
Grade 5 and 6 students will observe how matter can make irreversible changes. They will observe how rust is created and experiment with changes to states of matter by making slime and oobleck.
