Auslan (Australian Sign Language) is the language of the Deaf community in Australia. It is signed using hand and body movements, as well as facial expressions.
In Term 3 the Grades Prep to Grade 3 students continue to participate in the Auslan Program.
At the beginning of the term students will be learning signs for a range of jungle, farm and pet animals. They will move onto signs for foods including fruits, vegetables and special treats. Towards the end of the term students will be learning sports and action signs.
Students will continually revise signs taught in the first semester. They will also learn a few celebrations signs for Father’s Day and Birthday celebrations.
