Auslan (Australian Sign Language) is the language of the Deaf community in Australia. It is signed using hand and body movements, as well as facial expressions.

In Term 4 the Grades Prep to Grade 3 students continue to participate in the Auslan Program.

Prep students will be learning the alphabet in Auslan and working towards recognising and signing their name.

Grade 1, 2 and 3 will be learning signs for sports and action words, signing likes and dislikes and start to sign short sentences in addition to single signs.

Towards the end of the term students will be learning how to sign Happy Birthday with the accompanying song as well as some festive signs later in December.

Students will continually revise signs taught in the first three terms.
